The upcoming lens camera from Sony looks cool, it’s basically a lens, camera sensor and processor in a package that attaches to your phone which in turn acts as the display and control for the lens.
The lens camera will be called Smart Shot, the combination of smartphone and cybershot. In lens stabilization will be present in Smart Shot and it is compatible with all Android and iOS devices. Connection over Wifi/NFC via Playmemories APP.
Latest reports suggested that the device is priced quite reasonably. The high-end model QX100 will be priced around $450, which is $300 lower than Sony DSC-RX100MII that shares the same sensor and lens package. According to a taiwanese site, ePrice the QX10 is listed at $230.
QX100, the high-end model will use the same 1 inch 20.2 mega pixel sensor with F/1.8 aperture as Sony DSC-RX100MII. While the QX10 has the same 1/2.3 inch 18.3 mega pixel sensor with f/3.5-3.9 lens as Sony DSC-WX150.
Both of these lens is expected to be announced on September 4 in Berlin together with Sony Z1 better known as Honami. Recent rumors suggests a new color variant for the lens which is gold and would look really good with the gold iPhone.
