Apple has stopped selling iPhone 5

The news is true. Apple has discontinued the iPhone 5 as iPhone 5S launches. The flagship device which was unveiled last year has the shortest shelf life of any iPhone to date.

Apart from unveiling the new flagship iPhone 5S, Apple also announced it’s sidekick, the colorful iPhone 5C, which will occupy the lower-cost iPhone bracket that the last year’s model would have slipped down to. Removing the iPhone 5 means that buyers will have an option to either buy the iPhone 5C or iPhone 5S.

The iPhone 5C will have almost identical specs with the previous iPhone 5 featuring an A6 processor and 4 inch Retina display with a colorful polycarbonate back cover. At the same time, the iPhone 4 will also be discontinued.

Unsurprisingly, the iPhone 4S remains. Those looking for a super cheap iPhone can get the 8GB version of 4S free of charge on contracts.
