These pictures might look like something out of a sci-fi movie, deceptively beautiful and otherwordly at the same time. But in fact, it is nearer than you think.

 

After 10 days of extreme weather with snow and ice storm, Slovenian photographer Marko Korošec went up Mount Javornik, a popular skiing resort hoping to capture some beautiful nature shots. What awaits him at the top of the mountain is beyond his expectation. Layers of hard ice also known as rime ice had covered the trees and lookout towers, and the wind has formed ice spikes with ghostly features.
